A-1 Community Housing Services offers potential homebuyers free one-on-one counseling appointments with our certified housing counselors to determine mortgage readiness. Whether you are wondering how the homebuying process works or if you are already in the process but have questions, this program is designed to educate potential homebuyer of the many steps to homeownership. We pride ourselves in providing comprehensive housing counseling and homebuyer education courses.
During the counseling sessions our certified housing counselor covers the following:
Credit report assessment and recommendation to improve credit
Developing a budget and action plan with steps that lead towards homeownership
Overview of the homebuying process
Pros and cons of homeownership, to prepare for the responsibility of being a homeowner
A-1 Community Housing Services can run clients’ credit report for a fee or clients are welcome to download their free credit report by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com and submit for the counseling session.
HUD Approved First Time Homebuyer Education
As our community’s health and safety remain a top priority, we have taken our in-person First Time-Homebuyer Class virtual. We are currently offering the following two virtual options to receive a First Time Homebuyer Certificate of Completion:
FREE VIRTUAL III-PART HUD APPROVED FIRST TIME HOMEBUYERS WORKSHOP
The course gives an in-depth look at:
Preparing for homeownership
Managing money
Understanding the importance of credit
Qualifying for a mortgage
Shopping for a home
Available down payment assistance and grant information
Post Purchase
All participants will receive a First Time Homebuyer Toolkit which will include tools, resources and information to help navigate the homebuying process and access to the class curriculum.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are interested in the upcoming three-part series certification course, please complete your intake form here. Once received, call-in information will be emailed directly to you.
You must complete Part I & Part II in order to qualify for the certification. Part III is a one-on-one phone counseling session. Clients are still required to complete a phone counseling appointment in order to receive certification of completion.
E-HOME - ONLINE CERTIFICATION CLASS FOR $99
In partnership with eHome America, exceeding national industry standards, this course creates knowledgeable and default-resilient buyers ready for a lifetime of homeownership. Easily accessible through any device 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can learn the ins and outs by taking the comprehensive, fun and engaging course at your own pace. This course does have a $99 fee and is offered in English and Spanish, you can register by clicking below:
Once you have completed the course, please contact our office to schedule your one-on-one counseling session. In order to receive your certification, you need to complete both the course and counseling session.
