NEW
PROGRAM

ALAMEDA COUNTY

Foreclosure Prevention Program for Property Owners

The new program, approved by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors in August 2023, is the Alameda County Foreclosure Prevention Program for Small, Low-Income Property Owners (“FPP” or the “Program”).

ATTENTION: The application deadline for FPP closed on 3/31/2024 . The program is not accepting applications at this time.

About FPP

FPP seeks to ensure that affected property owners retain ownership of their rental property, thereby decreasing the likelihood of displacement of residential tenants, particularly lower income tenants who have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

FPP has provided financial assistance to eligible small, low-income property owners, who are at risk of foreclosure, or are in foreclosure, as a result of nonpayment of rents during the COVID-19 pandemic and during the period of the Alameda County Eviction Moratorium, which ended on April 29, 2023.

Applications for Phase II are currently being reviewed. If you submitted an application for Phase II a case manager will be in touch with you to collect any missing documents.

Phase II will provide grants up to 75k to eligible property owners who were impacted due to non-rent payments and used savings to keep their properties current or had a mortgage delinquency, notice of default or notice of sale during that time and were able to bring it current.
